Sodium Sulphite is most common chemicals used as one the Oxygen Scavenger. It is used in both fresh water and salt water drilling fluids containing dissolved oxygen. It is the inorganic compound with the chemical formula Na2SO3. It is a pale yellow in appearance which is water soluble solid. it is used commercially as an antioxidant and preservative as well. It reacts with and eliminates dissolved oxygen as a possible source of corrosion in drilling mud system.
